Pet Friendly ROOMS AT TAPOCO LODGE
Vacations don’t have to mean saying goodbye to Spot! We understand that traveling without your pets can be tricky, and that it’s no fun excluding pets from the adventure. Tapoco Historic Lodge has even been the site of a doggie wedding in the past! We are therefore happy to accommodate our furry friends in several of our rooms, and will even have a little treat waiting for them in the room upon arrival. Vacations should include everyone, including the pup!
Below are all of our accommodation options that are dog-friendly. Please take a look and let our concierge know that you’ll be traveling with your pet when you book. In addition, take a look at our suggested adventures for you and your four-legged friend. North Carolina, with its lush forests and countless hikes, is perfect for bringing along your best bud.

The Mountain View and Overlook Cabins are both happy to welcome pets; and in total comprise five beautiful and spacious rooms that have plenty of space for your loved friend to roam around in.
OVERLOOK ONE
Overlook One is a cabin room that shares a porch with Overlook Two, with beautiful views of the Cheoah River. It features a plush king bed, private bath, 42′ TV, refrigerator/microwave, and fantastic views.

MOUNTAIN VIEW ONE
Mountain View One features a king bed, a twin day bed, a private stone porch, 42′ TV, private bath, refrigerator/microwave, and gorgeous rocking chairs on your porch for enjoying your morning coffee.
MOUNTAIN VIEW TWO
Mountain View Two is in a cabin that shares a porch with Mountain View Three, which is perfect for those traveling with another couple or friends. Includes a 42′ TV, private bath, porch, refrigerator/microwave, and gorgeous views.

ADVENTURES WITH FIDO
Brought Fido but unsure what to do around the area that is pet friendly? Here are just a couple of activities nearby that we recommend bringing your four-legged friend along. Pups are always welcome!
Hiking
There are hundreds of miles of hiking trails in and around the Tapoco property, as well as many more through the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains we are surrounded by. Bring a leash as most trails require your pup to be leashed at all times.
Bar Crawl
There are many bars, taverns, and restaurants in the area that have outdoor dining patios that are perfectly dog friendly so you can eat, drink, and relax with your four legged friend.
Kayaking and Water Sports
Lake Santeetlah is a perfect destination for dogs that love water. The lake is great for swimming, and visitors can rent kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards that dogs will love to venture out on as well!
